...dear Cape Town...I love you....

Wow, if I could, I would move to Cape Town today. Its is just too beautiful for words. Thanks Esti for organizing the best view for us.... Check it out. Thanks friend.

Our stunning view in Bantry Bay
We spent our two days eating, drinking, shopping and soaking up the sun...the 4 things I love most in life. It was just perfect. I didn't take loads of pics cause I was too busy stuffing my face with amazing wine and delicious food.

Our balcony, food at The Old Biscuit Mill, Esti, Marc and Wollie soaking up the sun.
Thanks friends and boyfriend....it was fantastic. loves y'all!

...old school find...

On Sunday, Wollie and myself were killing time in PTA cause we had lunch plans with the parentals. So we went to Hatfield to check out some of the shops and tadaaaaaaaaa, I found this very amazing pretty old school purse / man bag jobby at the market. And the best part it was only R80. The bottom zip needs a bit of a fix, but I love it and I got it just in time for the Namibia road trip so it can hold all our passports and papers!

...wedding central...

The first one of us four got married this weekend and it was GREAT! We were booked into a guest house in Pretoria with the best view of the city and were pampered the entire Friday and Saturday! It was such a great weekend and I wish we could have more of them. Here are some of our highlights. Being a bridesmaid is rather stressful and I stopped taking pictures half way through the day cause I had a million other things to do! So here are some before pictures and then some party pictures....

...monday madness...

Just came across this super cute photography project via pinterest (of course). Its titled "Once Upon" by Heidi Lender.  Heidi is a  fashion editor/reporter turned photographer/yoga guru and used this saying as her motivation for her clever little project: "Stand on a bench. Make sure it’s Monday. Wear something pretty."

... I love it!

...I could eat cheese all day looooong...

After talking about cheese at lunch today I randomly found this on pinterest...and its me on a print....My favourite food and colour in one print...I have Esti to blame for my cheese addiction. When we lived together for all those years we always had to have cheese and coke in the house and she got me hooked on the cheese thing. I need cheese in my life. Daily. It makes me incredibly happy, almost happier than shoes.

Thank pinterest for inspiring me daily!

...i just had to...

Friday at work was super duper hectic and I was running around like a headless chicken and between all of this Lameez and I had to go to Sandton to get some cupcakes and balloons for a shoot. So we happened to walk into Woolies...and there they were, on a beautiful mannequin, the pretties summer wedges ever, calling our names....we just couldn't leave them and each bought a pair!!! Now we are a pair of shoes richer and have happy hearts...

Thank you Woolworths!

...mmmm, lucky moo....

Wollie and me decided to pig out on Friday night! We stuffed our faces, set up my computer in front of our bed, (cause my computer screen is now bigger than or TV...fact!) and watched True Blood till we fell asleep! It was glorious!

Everyone has been talking about the new Chinese take away place in Parkhurst, Lucky Moo, and we finally decided to try it out! The food was great, but the experience not so much! We ordered sushi, spring rolls (which we never got) and a main meal each.  It was a mission to get the food, there were tons of people and I even phoned in to place the oredr which then still took ages. When we got home we realised that we never got our spring rolls, which was disappointing. BUT the food is good and the boxes are adorable!!!! Definitely worth a try, just check your order before you leave!

Cute packaging and ymmu food!

...rocking with Arno...

One of the main reason I wanted to go to Rocking the Gardens was to see one of the sexiest men in SA music....and wow...was he HOT! Springbok Nude Girls rocked the crowd and we were there, dancing our faces off to bubblegum on my boots today...he was HOT HOT HOT!!!!

Pictures taken by Brendon Bishop...thanks!

This is the way Sunday's are supposed to be spent! Lying on blankets with friends, watching bands, drinking waaaay to much beer and laughing at some CRAZY freak jumping around on springy things scaring little kids...! I could totally make that my job. Oh and they were handing out free condoms the entire day, so I just had to take a picture!

Could totally do this every weekend!

...hello my little friend...

...tell me whats your colour...

Check out this little colour quizz. I found it while browsing How About Orange
My personality colour is yellow and I think its pretty spot on! After doing the test, I went through my inspiration folder (again!) and found so many yellow things in there, so I just had to make my own little inspiration board!!!

This is what it said about me....
Your color personality is: Yellow
Like yellow's strongest symbol, the sun, you radiate warmth. Others love to be around you because you have a gift for always looking on the bright side, and your ready smile can be infectious. Chances are your calendar is packed -- yellow lovers tend to be always on the go!Your signature color indicates someone imaginative and creative, so don't be afraid to express yourself through the way you dress and the way you decorate your home. Cheerful yellow is the ideal hue for a kitchen, laundry room, or any room that needs some extra brightness.

(from Better Homes and Gardens)...
I think I like yellow as my colour....

just wanna say....this is where I would love to be right now but instead I am sitting behind my computer in the office. Happy Friday guys. Hope everyone has an excellent weekend.

The boys always do an Africa trip once a year and this is Wollie in Zanzibar a while back. They have started planning the next one so it just made me think how I would love to be there right now.

...before and after....

Guys, look at these amazing before and afters that I found on Design*Sponge.

All images from Design * Sponge
We actually have a chair at home that I stole from Chene when she was working at a lodge outside Pretoria...its salmon pink velvet and very disgusting but will one day turn into a pretty comfortable reading chair.

...mannequin madness...

ok...some of you might know that I have a complete obsession with mannequins. I have been begging Wollie to get me a dressmakers mannequin for my birthday. He did buy me one a couple of years back, her name is 'Gretchen' and I will show her to you guys soon...i just have to paint her as she is now going up against my grey wall....I do love her lots!!!

Anyway...I have been looking through my photo album to find some pictures to print for the travel wall and came across these beauties.

I took these pics last year when JayLow and me went to Paris. Its the window display of the Lanvin shop in Rue du Faubourg Saint Honore, Paris and I totally fell in love. Jaylow was inside admiring the clothes and I was standing outside photographing these beautiful window displays... I would love to go back there and see what the windows currently look like. I would also love to be part of the team that comes up with these amazing ideas...I love the beaks on the male mannequins.

...work in progress...

So, we finally had our DIY weekend...and it was so much fun and a lot of hard work...Its still not 100% finished and I have a feeling it will never be, cause once I am done with the current project there is something else that I want to do.

But here are my pretty grey walls (please excuse the mess, its still a work in progress)!!!

This one is the lounge wall. I want to make it our study area. I am planning on hanging some clipboards here and making it a pin board type thing...will update again once its done....

This one is the dining room wall....It desperately needs new lights and a painting or shelf or something.... (and a clean dining room table...hehehe)

And here is me working very very hard....

...more shop inspiration...

Everyone always says that you should visualise your goals as it makes them more achievable. I am using my blog for that visualisation....that is valid isn't it? Someday I will have a little shop space of my own and it will be beautiful!

Look at this pretty boutique shop. Its called Brass Razoo Boutique. It's located in the heart of historic downtown Nampa, Idaho and their motto is restoring worth and value by redesigning and recreating recycled items. I love it. Everything is unique and eclectic and ranges from vintage to retro to modern. I love love love it. They have all sorts of stuff...mirrors, furniture, jewellery and....wait for it....mannequins !!!! All I wanna do now is go to Idaho and shop!

They also have a facebook page where they update their stock! Check it out!

...DIY weekend....

I know its only Tuesday but I am very very excited for this weekend. We had a massive tree taken out in the garden yesterday and that just spurred on some DIY. So, we have big plans for our little housie. I am repainting the grey wall to a darker shade of grey, and the rest of the living room a light shade of grey! Then we wanna replant some plants and buy some other stuffies for our garden. This will be the first as Wollie and me have never done some gardening ever...will post some pictures of our hard work...promise!

I also really want a new TV stand as the one we have currently is one that belonged to the previous owner....its yukky! I stumbled across these beautiful thingies...don't think it will work as a TV cabinet but definitely gonna try and fit it in somewhere else in the house....its so pretty!

Images via pinterest...from http://www.futu.pl/futu,2,367.html?locale=pl_PL
PS: Cash converters and Pule will be very very happy on Monday as we are clearing out the garage and the extra room! Hopefully we will get some monies for some of the things!!!

...one day when i am big...

... I am going to open a beautiful shop...I have been wanting to open a little pretty space for ages now, that sells the most amazing stuff...cards, wrapping paper, photography, art, bags, cushions, jewellery, ipad covers and bearded hats (especially for Melinda), clothes, vintage suitcases (if I can find some) and all sorts of cool shiat. You can spend the afternoon at the shop drinking delicious coffee or a nice glass of wine, while relaxing in the sun and reading a good book, chatting with friends or listening to the playlists that jaylow will put together (thanks).

This blog Eat Drink Chic is what my shop looks like in my head...with all sorts of pretty!
Here is some of my inspiration...!

images are all from a combination of blogs i read daily...the list is on the side under ...blogs i love...
Come on people who will come and visit my shop?

...oh what a weekend...

(sorry its a little late but I am still waiting for pics from the hike...Sven?)

Yowzers guys...talk about a hectic weekend. We went hiking and moving and racing and cleaning all in one crazy weekend.
It started off with a hike in the Magaliesburg which Sven organized for us. It was a mission to get there as Kate, the GPS, took us on some serious 4x4 tracking routes. (pictures to follow soon...i hope)

On Sunday, Jess, Debbie, Dave and me did The Citizen race at the Jo burg Zoo. It was one of the prettiest races I have done, through the leafy suburbs of Parkhurst and ending at the Zoo...I highly recommend it....afterwards we cleaned all our garden rubble and then relaxed to the max!!!
wow...we were busy!

Tuesday 14 September 2010

...oh so pretty but oh so small...

Guys, look at these BEAUTIFUL shoes that Wollie bought in Chicago. He asked for a size 6 which is my size in SA, but unfortunately in the US its a size 4...SO....they are waaaaaaaaaaaay to small for me (super sad face).
I just had to share with you guys how amazing Wollie's shoe taste is...I have trained him well, now I just need to train him on sizes. He brought back a huge suitcase full of goodies and will share the other stuff with you guys soon!!!

I think I need to start a shoe closet like this one where I can display these beauties and some of my other shoes...seeing that I am running out of space in my cupboards!

...fashionable friday....

Not such a great week for me. So to cheer me up a little, I did some upliftment pretend online shopping. I love doing that, going onto all sorts of sites, filling up my shopping bag, admiring all the stuff and then closing the window...

Here are some of the things my shopping bag from Zara would have:

...empty wall...

A while ago my dad came and did a whole lot of stuff at our house, like taking out one of our kitchen cupboard to make space for our fridge. Now our fridge is no longer in our dining room and therefor we have a nice empty wall to do stuff with. When I saw this picture, I thought its such a perfect temporary solution for the wall and it can be constantly updated. Don't you just love the idea. Best of all...once I found a permanent artwork for that empty wall, I can easily move the clipboards to my study area, (which is a work in progress at the moment but will show you guys once its done)!
