...thanks for the couch...

Then the week got a little better cause we FINALLY received our couch. We bought it a month ago and it has taken them 4 weeks to deliver it. But it finally arrived yesterday afternoon and we are two happy chappies.

PS: I just realised how terribly empty our house look in these pictures...

...bag lady...

It was miserable weather on Saturday so Wollie and me decided to just go for a walk in this little shopping street. And guess what...SALES EVERYWHERE...so Wollie bought an awesome Bench rain jacket and I got this awesome cool bag. me likes it a lot.

...oh em gee, its a shopping spree...

Wollie promised that as soon as I get an interview he will take me shopping...Guess what...IT HAS FINALLY HAPPENED. Last week Monday I received a phone call from an agency and they wanted to see me for an interview...and therefore I got some spending money and went on a shopping spreeeeee.

3 pairs of shorts, 1 high waisted shorts, 1 blazer, 2 belts, 1 pair of black pumps, 4 long dress like tops (which were on sale fr 3euros), 1 long cargo pants, 1 smart top, 2 t-shirt tops, 1 black miniskirt & 1 v-neck jersey
Now I have a cupboard full of clothes and hopefully lots of places to wear them too.

PS: I did feel rather guilty spending all that money.

...Sunday is funday...

On Sunday we woke up with a  bit of a hangover and a headache but had plans with the my cousins to go and have a picnic breakfast in the English Garden which turned out pretty good...(note no actual picnic pics)...We then walked around in the garden for a bit. The Chinese Tower hosted a massive party that started at 4 in the morning so we watched the drunken people dance and drink and then walked to the Eisbach, which is known for people tanning naked. Wollie and myself giggled like 5 year old kids cause there were these two men standing in the middle of the grassland naked, having a fat chat with their manhood hanging free (unfortunately I have no pics of that ;).

This guy was cycling around on a bycicle, with a portable shower attached to it and then stopps and people shower and he takes pics...random.

...Birthdays need to be celebrated....

It was Sebastian's Birthday last week and he decided to have a birthday braai at the Isar. We schlepped everything there and it was awesome. The river banks are packed with people braaing and tanning and just enjoying the sun. Sabine made Hugo, which is a great refreshing cocktail drink, and we had steaks, salad and lots of alcohol...

And then of course, we ended up taking stupid photos and laughed and laughed.

...yes, we stuffed our faces...

On Thursday Wollie and me went back to Tollwood again. Every time we have been there we didn't really eat anything, we usually just had beers or cocktails and a crepe on our way out...but on Thursday we went with one aim and that was to stuff our faces with deliciousness...and we did just that.

We decided to eat our way through and taste as many things as possible, we shared everything so that we could fit more variety into our bellies and this is what we had...don't judge us. We started off with corn on the cob, followed by a Thai Curry, then a Flammkuchen (which is a small flat pizza) with feta, tomatoes and rocket and finished the round with Reiberdatschi (or Kartoffelpuffer with Apfelmuss). We took a food break and watched people learn the Salsa and carried on with a samosa each and Wollie had a Coconut Lassi. Then we had Mojito's and ended the night with a warm chocolate Crepe.

MMMM....it was a good night!

...tollwood...

Twice a year Munich hosts this festival called Tollwood where international bands play and there are food stalls and flea markets and all sorts of nice stuff. We went there on Friday night to check out the vibe and drink beer and because we were in a big group we didn't do much walking around, so Colleen and me decided to go again yesterday....Its a very cool place to waste time :)

Macy Gray is playing there tonight and I think we might go and see whats happening, don't think there will be any tickets left but maybe we can stand outside and just listen? Will report back.

...hey sparkle face...

We took these pics at Colleen's birthday a while ago. Her scary neighbour lady gave her these massive sparkles for her birthday, and at midnight we lit them and had some fun. Peter was as excited as a 5year old child on Christmas...I just love them...think I am going to frame them for our new housie.

...amazing thoughtful friends...

A big huge massive enormous gigantic thank you to Mark and Sarah who absolutely made our day today. They sent us this amazing fondue set for our housewarming present and its just stunning.
Thanks guys...you are the best! Now you just have to come and visit us here in Munich and we can stuff our faces with cheese!!

The funny thing is, they sent it ages ago but we never received it. We didn't have a name sign at the door downstairs and our doorbell didn't work, so the package was sent back to them twice. BUT today we finally managed to receive it as we have a name tag downstairs and a working doorbell and a cute postman that walked all the way up to our front door. Thanks Mr Postman...hooray!

...hiking our faces off in amazingness...

guys...wow...is all I can say. Sven and Colleen wanted to go hiking yesterday so we decided to join them. Wollie and me had a bit of a hangover and nearly cancelled but ended but dragging ourselves out of bed after 3.5hours of sleep and going for the most amazing hike ever. We drove for just over an hour to a little town called Scharnitz, just passed the Germany/Austria border, and went on a hiking trail in the Alps, called the Gleirschklamm. Of course, like any good hike we got a little bit lost (or sidetracked) at the end.

The start of our route...check out the blue water
some of the route
oh yes...we are experienced hikers.

Wollie being manly, the water tasted better than any bottled water.
We had to walk across amazing gorges and steep mountain rock and at the top was a farm wth a little house/restaurant. It was amaizng, the grannny cooked the food in the kitchen and the lady was the waitress and the three boys were farming outside. It was amazing., The food was the best ever and we just didn't want to leave.

The house/restaurant at the peak of the hike. All we kept saying was LIFE IS GREAT!!!!

Best food ever. Colleen wanted to take the granny home.
While you are eating, the cows graze on the open fields in front of you so all you hear are their bells which gets annoying after a while.

...when in Bayern...

...you need a Dirndl. A dirndl is a type of traditional dress worn in Bavaria and South Tyrol, based on the historical costume of Alpine peasants. So me and Colleen were killing time the other day and decided to try some on...what fun. We have to each get one for the Oktoberfest but just couldn't bring ourselves to pay 100euros (R1000) for such a dress. But I think this week we might take the plunge.

...thanks Neighbour lady, you're awesome...

On Friday morning when Wollie was dashing out to work, he found this brown envelope in front of the door. When we openend it it was a cute little Munich travel guide with a post-it on the front welcoming us to Munich and the block of flats. It also had little post it notes throughout the book at some great local favouroite places with little tips and bus lines we should take to get there. Thank you Lydia, you are special, such a nice neighbour lady.

...IKEA round nr 2...

My list of things we need for the house gets longer and longer everyday so Colleen offered to take me too IKEA on Thursday. That shop is amazeballs...you can literally spend your life savings there in under an hour...easy. My list is now a little bit shorter but still pretty long. Here is our heap of stuff I got.

Washing basket that actually a chair, pillows, mattress cover, salad bowl, kitchen utensils, colander, candle holders and candles, clothes hanger, slippers, glass jars, wine glasses, tea towels, pillow cases, clips for resealing stuff...I did good.
