...lunch, table for one...

Had lunch by myself again today (yes, super sad face) and went to this amazing salad bar called dean&david. I had a warm grilled vegetable salad and it was yumyumyum. I found the germany be-leaf and pretended to have lunch with Karen and Debbie... miss you girls loads.

...round 2...

Ok, so today is my first work function...we are going to the Oktoberfest and Avantgarde reserved a box at the Paulaner bierzelt, also knows as the Winzerer Fähndl. I am geared with wristbands, one for entrance into the tent and one for free booze and food...can I get a heehaa! I am scared and nervous, cannot loose my name under the tables in my second week of work. But here it goes, dirndl in bag and beerdrinking cap on.

...beer, beer and more beer...

On Sunday we forced our tired hungover bodies out of bed and carried on...as you do. It was the official Oktoberfest parade through the streets of Munich but it was miserable weather, rainy and cold, so we only watched a bit of the parade and then we met Heike and Michael and 2 of their friends at the Hofbrauhaus Munich...wow...and did we drink a lot of beer.. In our drunkenness we started doing the polonaise through the Festhalle and had a bunch of people joining us, but the unfriendly German bouncers asked us to please sit down and behave. Booooring guy...the lead oompa man actually came to us afterwards and apologised, he said they have to be boring and civilized, rules are rules. blah blah!

...get the Oktoberfest started...

my oh my...what a day. We were told by numerous Germans that we should get up super early and head on over to the Wiesn to stand in a queue and hope for a spot in the tents. It was rainy and cold on Saturday so we ended up only leaving the house round 9, all relaxed, and when we finally got there we walked around the Augustiner tent to a little side door, a guy checked our bags and BOOM we were in. No mission, no queue, no nothing...just a full tent of thirsty tourists. Then we missioned to find a table and again we found one quick quick and sat down and waited for the first beer. It was too much fun, we drank waaay too much, ate waaay too much and danced waaay to little.

This was our waitress, oldish lady and she can carry 10 mass...

...catch up time...

Sorry for the lack of posting but I started my new job and things got pretty hectic last week. Annette came to visit which was totally awesome and this is a pic of the three of us at the Holy Home bar.

Then the next night the three of us went to explore the city and find some dinner, we missioned all the way to the English Garden (wollie geared up in his lederhosen) but when we got there the food looked about 3 days old and the vibe was boring and ended up going to a restaurant in town which was terrible. I don't know what it was called , but we had bad service, bad food and bad vibes all round and therefore we ended our evening pretty early with no pictures.

...sunday...

On Sunday we decided to wear our 'trachten'. We took the car, our outfits and Svelleen to Starnberger See and had lunch at one of the places our neighbour recommended in her little tour guide booklet she gave us. So we ended up at Undosa...amazing food, great vibe, unfriendly waitress...

...saturday night fever...

On Saturday we had our monthly dinner club and it was our turn to choose a restaurant. I chose Dhaba, a little Indian place in Schwabing. And it was great...Basti and Biene had never eaten Indian before which made the night even better. We had loads of wine and even received a free shooter when we paid the bill.

Afterwards we went to a weird crazy party at the Löwenbräu Keller...which was super random.
Weird people + random music + new venue = awesome drunken night.

...awesome weeken! car, hotel, shopping, food...

So Wollie finally finished his project on Friday and the we celebrated. He hired a car on Friday night, we went to the Tegernseeand stayed over at this amazing hotel on a ski slope (well when it snows) and then we went for a stunning dinner at a beer-garden on the promenade next to the water.

Then on Saturday morning we had amazing breakfast with a view the next morning and went walking around the little 'dorpies' and bought lederhosen and dirndl for the Oktoberfest.

...damn you H&M and Zara...

I am having serious shopping withdrawals. Seeing that I don't have a job and lots and lots of time, I spend my days walking around and exploring the city and end up in H&M and Zara almost every second day. They have the most amazing clothes and my shopping soul goes into overdrive when I walk in...The problem is...not having a job means no money, no money means no shopping, no shopping means unhappy Andrea....So all I want to say here is...Dear H&M & Zara, once I have my work permit and I am allowed to work I will spend my first paycheck in your beautiful shops. My shopping soul will be rejuvenated. kaythanksbye.

regards
Andrea
