...it was a white christmas...

So Wollie and me decided to spend our first Christmas alone together somewhere totally new. So we booked this little hotel, Hotel Erlhof, in a place called Zell-am-See (Kaprun) in Austria for 3 nights and it was magnificent. We were in the mountains, snow all around us and Wollie's first white Christmas.
We left Munich on Friday after work and couldn't see anything cause it was dark and misty.

So when we woke up the 24th and saw this view for the first time, we were speechless....Just look at it... This is the Kitzsteinhorn mountain....

We spent the day walking around, buying stuff and eating our way through town. Then On Christmas eve, we watched the choir sing Christmas carols in the city center and Santa came on a carriage to hand out gifts to all the kids (will still upload these pics). Later we went back to the hotel, opened a bottle of wine and spend Xmas eve unpacking gifts in our hotel room...too much fun!

On Christmas day we decided to go up the mountain and spend our Christmas in -12 at 3029m. They have a cinema up there, an amazing restaurant and a 360m mine shaft that goes through the Kitzsteinhorn peak with a panorama platform of the Hohe Tauern National Park at the end.

This is our way there and up. First our car doors were frozen. We switched cable cars 3 times to eventually reach 3029m. And at the top it was -12 degrees. Note all the photos documenting all the stops and coldness.

And this is especially for Maryke...we thought of you...

We cannot wait for our ski course in January. We are definitely going back there and making use of all the ski lifts and night sledding!!!!!!
